Misinformation by making fake photocards in the name of my country, what is DCMISLAB saying

Several fake photocards were seen spreading in the name of media ‘Amar Desh’ on social media Facebook. A circle is often spreading confusion by making fake photocards of my country. On Friday, online verification and media research platform ‘Dismisslab’ released a report on two fake photocards.

For the readers of Amar Desh, the report is presented exactly—

Several photocards were seen spreading in the name of media ‘Amar Desh’ on social media Facebook. In a demand published on January 14, it is said in a card that a group of women workers of Jamaat who went to collect the voter numbers of simple women in the village were handed over to the police by the mob. On the other hand, in the title of another photocard, it is said that the current chairman of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Tariq Rahman is making an urgent call to Amir Mufti Faizul Karim, the senior Naib of Islami Andolan Bangladesh. However, the Dismisslab factcheck shows that both photocards are fake. When my country was contacted about this, they said that the media has not published any such photocard or report.

First from a Facebook page on January 14 The photocard is posted. A few women can be seen inside a room in the photo of the photocard made by the media in the style of my country. Several books can be seen in front of them and “Mujibnagar Thana Bhavan” on the back wall. And it is written there, “when going door to door to collect voter ID card numbers of simple women, the local people handed over the women workers of Jamaat to the police.’’ At the top of the photocard is the logo of Amar Desh Patrika. Below is the “14 January 2026” date and the media’s website address.

As of the publication of this report, the photocard has been shared more than 4,500 times and has received more than 9,000 responses. More than a thousand users commented. One user wrote, “going door to door these women are annoying, very nice.” Another wrote, “it’s a good job.The whole country should do this.”

To verify whether the spread photocard was published in my country or not, Dismisslab found all the photocards and posts published on the Facebook page of the media on January 14. However, no such photocard or news about any leader of Jamaat on this specific date can be found on the official Facebook page of the media. In the circulated photocard again, the font of the photocard of Amar Desh Patrika is different from the font used in the title.

Dismisslab found a report published on December 30, 2022 after reverse image search of the photo in the photocard for more detailed verification. According to reports, this is the case of police arresting eight women workers of Jamaat along with organizational books for holding secret anti-government meetings in Meherpur’s Mujibnagar. Mujibnagar Thana Police raided the house of Mosharraf Master of Gopalnagar village of the upazila around 11:30 on Friday, December 30 and arrested them. The photo used in the report is identical to the photo in the photocard. At that time some other media published reports (1, 2, 3) about the incident.

From a personal Facebook profile on January 15 The photocard is posted. In that photocard made on the model of my country, the photo of BNP Chairman Tariq Rahman and Islami Andolan Bangladesh Senior Naib Amir Mufti Faizul Karim and their party’s election symbol are attached and written, “Mufti Faizul Karim is an emergency phone of Tariq Rahman!” At the top of the photocard is the logo of Amar Desh Patrika. At the bottom is “14 January 2026” and the media’s website address. The caption of the post reads, “BNP call or come and contact directly. We are not upset about it.Because BNP has offered 30 seats before. The Islamic movement did not pay attention to it.Because there can be no political unity with those who do not believe in Sharia law.”

The photocard has been shared more than 700 times and received more than 10,000 responses as of the time of writing this report. Facebook users have commented on the post more than 1500 times. One commented and wrote, “Charmonai sahib allied with BNP.” Another wrote, “Ratane Ratan Chin?”

As before, Dismisslab checked the photocards and posts of the official Facebook page of the media on January 14. But no photocard or news about Mufti Faizul Karim’s phone conversation with Tariq Rahman can be found on the official Facebook page of the media. Besides, no report about this can be found on my country’s website and YouTube channel.

Dismisslab contacted my country to confirm the two photocards. Alfaz Anam, associate editor of the company, confirmed to Dismisslab that no such photocard has been published by my country.

  1. That is, the claims of the two cards circulated in the name of my country are false. However, the case of fake claims by copying photocards of my country is not new. Even before this, when several fake photocards were spread in the name of the media, Dismisslab published a factcheck report about it.
